About

How to connect a Linux Device to the eduroam network.

Environment

Personal and La Salle Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora) devices located on campus.

Steps

1. Click on the WiFi icon located at the top right of your screen. If you do not see it, click on the Super key on your keyboard (Windows key if running Linux on a Windows device and Command key if running Linux on a Mac device) and search for Settings

2. If navigating through the WiFi icon, click on the right facing carrot to open the drop down menu of available WiFi networks. If done though System Settings, scroll on the left hand side until you see the Network settings.

3. Select the eduroam network connection from either screen above. You will be prompted with the following screen

4. Enter the following information and leave the remaining fields blank:

  • Wi-Fi security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
  • Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
  • Domain: luna.lasalle.edu
  • CA certificate: (none)
  • ENABLE the box for No CA certificate is required
  • PEAP version: Automatic
  • Inner authentication: MSCHAPv2

5. Enter your full La Salle email address and password in the Username and Password fields.

6. Click Connect.

NOTE: If you are attempting to connect to La Salle Wireless instead, follow the same exact steps. The ONLY difference is you will put your LUNA username for the Username field instead of your full La Salle email address.
