This article provides information about using a personal printer on campus. Personal printers cannot connect directly to the campus Wi-Fi. To print from a personal printer, you will need to connect the printer directly to your laptop using a USB printer cable.
Why Personal Printers Cannot Use Campus Wi-Fi
Personal printers cannot connect to campus Wi-Fi because they may become visible to other people on the network, allowing others to see the printer as an available printing option. For this reason, personal printers are restricted from connecting to Campus Wi-Fi.
To use a personal printer on campus, connect the printer directly to your laptop using a printer cable.
Personal Printer Support and Maintenance
La Salle IT Helpdesk does not provide supplies or general maintenance for personal printers. This includes replacing toner or ink, providing paper, replacing printer parts, or repairing the printer. IT can assist with installing the printer driver on La Salle issued devices.
Any other printer maintenance or repair will need to be handled by the printer owner or the printer manufacturer.
