How to Download and Install Microsoft Office on a Personal Computer

About

Students and most faculty/staff are eligible to download and install Microsoft Office on their personal devices at no charge. The license will be valid as long as the user has an active @lasalle.edu account and a Microsoft365 license.

Note that Microsoft Access is only available for Windows devices.

Steps

  1. Go to https://www.office.com/ and log in with your La Salle email address and password. If you are prompted to choose between "Work or School Account" or "Personal Account", choose the "Work or School" account type.
  2. Click on ‘Install Office’ followed by "Office 365 Apps".
  3. Run the Installer after it is finished Downloading. Click Yes to confirm when Prompted. You must be connected to the Internet.
  4. After the installation is complete, start any Office program and select "Get Started" or "Activate Office".
  5. Log in with your La Salle email address and password. If you are prompted to choose between "Work or School Account" or "Personal Account", choose the "Work or School" account type.
  6. Accept the license agreement and click Continue.
  7. Office is now installed and activated.
