Setting up mobile email on iOS with Microsoft multi-factor authentication

These instructions apply to iPhones and iPads running IOS 14.x or higher.
If you are running IOS 13.x or lower, you will navigate to Passwords & Accounts in step 2 instead of Mail.

Deleting your account

If you have previously added your La Salle account to the IOS mail app, you will have to remove it and re-add it to allow MFA to function. To do so, follow these steps. If you have not added your account previously, skip to the "Adding your account" section.

  1. Open the Settings application and select Mail.
  2. Select Accounts.
  3. Select your La Salle account from the list (the default name is Exchange).
  4. Select Delete Account.
  5. Select Delete from My iPhone.

After your account is deleted follow the steps below to add your account to the app again with MFA enabled.

Adding your account

  1. Open the Settings application and select "Mail".
  2. Select Accounts
  3. Select Add Account
  4. Select Microsoft Exchange
  5. Input your La Salle email and select Next
  6. Select Sign In when asked if you want to sign in using Microsoft.
  7. When Prompted, sign in using your configured MFA method.
    Note: if you receive an error at this step please attempt to add the account another time and if you still receive an error contact the Helpdesk for further support.
     
  8. Select what you would like to sync from your Outlook account and hit Save
  9. Your account will take a few minutes to sync your mail and contacts, it may take longer depending on the volume of mail in your account.
