Getting Started with Canvas
Welcome to Canvas! This guide will help you navigate the platform and make the most of your online learning experience.
What is Canvas?
Canvas is our learning management system (LMS) where you can access course materials, submit assignments, participate in discussions, and communicate with your instructors and classmates.
How to Access Canvas
- Login: Visit my.lasalle.edu and enter your student credentials.
- Portal: In the search window, type in "Canvas Access" and select the icon.
- Dashboard: Once logged in, you'll see your Dashboard, which displays your courses and important notifications. Note: If you don't see your course on your dashboard, the instructor may not have published it. To check that you are registered for the correct courses, go to Br. Lewis on the my.lasalle.edu portal under Tools.
Navigating Canvas
- Courses: Select on the course name to access materials, assignments, and announcements.
- Modules: Check the Modules section for a structured view of course content and resources; it should contain all necessary information for your learning: reading and lecture material, assignments, discussions, assessments, and Zoom meetings.
- Grades: Track your progress by checking grades and review and respond to instructor feedback under the Grades section.
