Important Notes

  • If you are and in your campus office, a docking station or an Ethernet hard-wired connection is faster and more reliable than using the VPN.
  • You will not be able to use the VPN if you have connected to the La Salle network with a docking station or with the Ethernet hard wired connection in your campus office.
  • If you are working remotely do not need to use any La Salle computing resources or if you only need to use E-mail, Canvas, OneDrive, Banner Self-Service, or the La Salle Portal, you do not need to connect to the VPN. You will need to connect to the VPN to access your P-Drive or H-drive folders, Banner Admin Pages, or Argos reports.
  • Your PC will not automatically connect to the La Salle VPN when you turn it on or reboot it. You will need to follow these simple instructions to connect.
  • Once you have connected to the VPN, you should remain connected until you reboot or power- off your PC. If you lose your VPN connection because of a poor network service or for any other reason, you should repeat the connection process to reconnect.

Steps

  1. To connect to the La Salle VPN, click on the GlobalProtect Tile in your Start Menu or click on the GlobalProtect Icon on your Taskbar or Desktop.
  2. When the GlobalProtect window appears, click the Connect button.
  3. Establishing the connection will take several seconds during which a Loading screen will appear.
  4. After the Loading screen closes, completing the VPN connection will take several additional seconds. When the VPN connection is complete, the GlobalProtect icon and/or the hard-wired network icon will appear in your Taskbar.
  5. If the GlobalProtect icon does not appear in your Taskbar and network icon does not change to hard wired, you can confirm the connection by clicking the Up Arrow in the Taskbar to open the full System Tray and hovering over the GlobalProtect icon to verify the Connected Tool Tip status.
