Former Student Access to LUNA, Email, and Other Systems

About

When a student graduates, or stops enrolling in courses, their access to La Salle systems and services will expire. Graduates will retain access for one year after graduation. Students who withdraw or who have not been registered for classes within two years are deactivated automatically by the Registrar's Office.

What happens when my LUNA account expires?

When your LUNA account is deactivated you will no longer have access to La Salle systems and services. This includes email, OneDrive, the mylasalle portal, Canvas, and all other systems.

The @lasalle.edu account and all contents, including email, files, and contacts, will be deleted. Email messages addressed to the expired account will bounce and no new emails will be delivered or forwarded.

If you have activated Microsoft Office or Windows on your personal device using your La Salle account, those subscriptions will expire and you will need to purchase a new subscription from Microsoft using your personal email address.

What happens if I take classes again later?

When you return, a new @lasalle.edu account will be created. It may have the same username as the previous account, but it will contain a new empty mailbox and cloud storage quota.

How to prepare

You will need to back up any data that you would like to save from your email, OneDrive, or other systems-

  1. Open a new personal email account or switch to another email account that you already have.
  2. Transfer any important email and contacts to your new email account. Download any files from OneDrive or Canvas and save them on your personal computer or cloud storage account.
  3. Update your subscriptions and other personal accounts to use your personal email address (e.g., Netflix, Amazon).
  4. If you activated Windows or Microsoft Office on your personal devices with your La Salle account, you will need to purchase a new personal subscription from Microsoft to continue using those services.
  5. Update your contact information with the La Salle Alumni Association.
