About

Tableau is a visual analytics platform used for reporting and analyzing vast volumes of data. It can be installed by both students and teachers.

Full-time students at accredited, credit-bearing academic institutions worldwide are eligible for a free one-year license to activate Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep.

Steps

  1. Fill out all of the required information. Enter in your La Salle email address in the appropriate field. Once finished, click the Verify Student Status button. 


    A confirmation pop up will appear. 

     
  2. Check your La Salle email for an email for SheerID. Copy your Product Key, then click on Download Tableau Desktop.

     
  3. Click on View the Current Version.

     
  4. Log in or create a Tableau account. 

     
  5. Download the appropriate file depending on your machine. 

     
  6. Navigate through the Installer. Click Continue and install the file.



     
  7. Open the Tableau application, then click Activate Tableau.

     
  8. Click on Activate with a product key.

     
  9. Find your product key, located in the SheerID email, and enter it in the text box. Click Activate when finished. 

     
  10. Afterwards, your Tableau will be activated and you will have access to Tableau Desktop.
