Users are provided a number of ways to use Zoom Room. Below is a guide on how to use Zoom Room.
Connecting a Laptop to the TV
Users may want to connect their laptop to a tv screen, but are not using Zoom. To connect without Zoom, follow the steps below.
1. Power on the TV. Ensure that you are on the correct Input Source on the TV.
2. Plug your laptop into the HDMI located in the center of the table. After plugging in your laptop, your laptop screen should appear on the TV screen.
Joining a Zoom Meeting with the Zoom Room Device
There are multiple ways to connect to a Zoom meeting with the Zoom Room device. Follow method 1 if you are creating the meeting. Follow method 2 if you are joining a meeting you did not create. Follow method 3 if you want to invite a Zoom Room to a meeting in progress.
Method 1: Using the Zoom Web Portal
1. Go to my.lasalle.edu and log in with your La Salle credentials. On the home screen of the portal, search for Zoom and click the option circled below.
2. You will see a screen similar to the one below. Select the Meetings tab.
3. Select Schedule a Meeting with the settings you prefer.
4. After creating the meeting, find the Show option at the bottom of the page.
5. Selecting show will make new options appear. Under Alternative Hosts, start typing ZR- into the text field and all the Zoom Rooms will appear. Select the Zoom Room you are located in and select Save.
6. The meeting is now set up. Power on the TV and ensure that you are on the correct Input Source on the TV.
7. On the home page of the touch screen, you will see your meeting. Select Start to begin the meeting.
8. Remove the lens cap on the camera if not done already. Select Start Video on the touch screen and Zoom participants will be able to see you.
9. At this point, your Zoom participants should be able to see and hear you now.
10. If you want to share documents or a presentation on your Zoom meeting, plug your laptop into the HDMI in the center of the table. This will share your screen in the Zoom presentation and display your laptop screen on the TV.
11. If you want to stop sharing your laptop screen into the meeting, you can either unplug your laptop or select the Sharing Content button. Then, select Stop Sharing.
12. If you want to share again, plug your laptop into the HDMI again or select the Share Content button.
13. When finished with the Zoom meeting, select the End button. Then, turn off the TV. Remember to put the lens cap back on the camera.
Method 2: Joining a Meeting Using a Meeting ID and Passcode
1. Power on the TV. Ensure that you are on the correct Input Source on the TV.
2. Select the Join button on the home screen.
3. Enter your Zoom meeting's meeting ID and passcode.
4. Remove the lens cap on the camera if not done already. Select Start Video on the touch screen and Zoom participants will be able to see you.
Note: You will need permission from the host in the meeting to begin sharing your screen.
5. If you want to share documents or a presentation on your Zoom meeting, plug your laptop into the HDMI in the center of the table. This will share your screen in the Zoom presentation and display your laptop screen on the TV. Then, the host will need to allow you to share.
6. If you want to stop sharing your laptop screen into the meeting, you can either unplug your laptop or select the Sharing Content button. Then, select Stop Sharing.
7. If you want to share again, plug your laptop into the HDMI again or select the Share Content button.
8. When finished with the Zoom meeting, select the End button. Then, turn off the TV. Remember to put the lens cap back on the camera.
Method 3: Inviting the Zoom Room to a Meeting in Progress
1. Power on the TV. Ensure that you are on the correct Input Source on the TV.
2. When in a Zoom meeting with another device already, you can invite the Zoom Room to join your current meeting. To do so, select Participants.
3. After selecting participants, a menu will appear on the right. Select Invite.
4. Now, a pop-up will appear. Select the Zoom Rooms tab at the top of the screen.
5. Select the Zoom Room you want to invite. To search for Zoom Rooms, type ZR- and all Zoom Rooms will appear. Select Invite.
6. After selecting invite, the touch screen will start ringing. Select Accept to join.
Note: You will need permission from the host in the meeting to begin sharing your screen.
7. If you want to share documents or a presentation on your Zoom meeting, plug your laptop into the HDMI in the center of the table. This will share your screen in the Zoom presentation and display your laptop screen on the TV. Then, the host will need to allow you to share.

Advanced Options
Camera Control:
1. When in a meeting, select the Camera Control button.
2. Now, a pop-up menu will appear. You can choose from four different camera modes.
-Manual is the most reliable method as it allows you to just leave the camera in your desired fixed position
-Speaker focus will zoom in on whoever is speaking at any given moment
-Auto framing will adjust the camera to show whoever is in the room in one wide shot
-Multi-stream will display individual close up shots of everyone put together as a grid
Zoom Controls View:
1. While in a meeting, select the View button.
2. Now, a pop-up menu will appear. You can choose from three different view modes.
-Speaker will display whoever is currently speaking in the Zoom meeting
-Thumbnail will display the speaker as a large square, while everyone else is displayed as small squares along the bottom
-Gallery will display everyone in the meeting as an equal sized square
3. There are a few other options here, such as Hide Self View or Show Non-video Participants which may be good for your meeting, but most meetings will be fine just leaving those untouched.
