Mapping admin-prtsrv1 to Windows Device

After upgrading to Windows 11, it is possible for users to not be able to use admin-prtsrv1 when trying to print. As a result, the printer would need to be remapped to the computer. Please follow the instructions below.

Steps

  1. First, ensure that the laptop is hard wired connected via Ethernet.


    Make sure you see this on the bottom right on your Taskbar. This indicates that you are connected to La Salle's network.

     
  2. Then go to Printers & Scanners.

     
  3. Under Printers & Scanners, click Add Device.

     
  4. Some printers should populate after a few minutes. Select the one that says either "LaSallePrint on ADMIN-PRINTSRV1" or "LaSallePrint on admin-printsrv1". Then click Add Device.

     
  5. After that, the LaSalle printer will be mapped to your computer. Please note that you will not be able to print UNLESS you are hard wired connected OR you are connected via VPN (Global Protect) on your laptop.
