Phase Out of Text and Voice MFA for Outlook Mobile App Authenticator Users

Summary

Instructions for verifying that the Outlook Authenticator App is working.

Body

Our records indicate that you have configured the Outlook Mobile App Authenticator for multifactor authentication (MFA), but that you may be using SMS Text or Voice Call for MFA.  Note: If you are using the Outlook Mobile App Authenticator, La Salle recommends that you upgrade to the Microsoft Authenticator App for additional features and security.

Outlook Authenticator with Text and Voice MFA

Microsoft is phasing out support for SMS text and voice calls in favor of more secure options such as Authenticator Apps, Verification Codes and Passkeys. Therefore, to prevent any interruption of access to your La Salle account, please confirm that your Outlook Mobile App Authenticator works before the SMS and Voice phase-out date in the notification email you received.

When the phase-out occurs, the options for Text- and Call-based MFA with disappear from the menu of MFA options presented after you enter your password.  Unless you can use your Outlook Mobile App Authenticator, you will not be able to access your Email, Canvas, Banner, OneDrive or other La Salle online services
