This article reviews how to install Office 2021 on La Salle-issued computers. This process will uninstall Office 2019 and install Office 2021 LTSC.
Steps
1: Log on to your computer and make sure you are either connected to the campus network through a docking station or network cable (luna.lasalle.edu) or connected to the VPN. The installer will not work over WiFi.
2. In the taskbar, search for the "Software Center" app and click Open.
3. Once Software Center is open, make sure the Applications tab is clicked on the left-hand side, then click on the "Replace Office 2019 with 2021" option in the list.
4. Click the Blue install button.
5. The process to uninstall Office 2019 and install Office 2021 will begin. This will take approximately 1 hour, and during this time you will not be able to use any Office applications while it is running.
Troubleshooting
If you run into any issues during the install:
1. Double check you are connected to the network via Ethernet (luna.lasalle.edu) or VPN.
2. Restart the computer and try again
3. Run Windows updates (KB article "How To update Windows Computer": https://lasalle.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/2615/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=153642)
4. Check and see if you have either of the following 2 products installed: 1) Microsoft Viso 2) Microsoft Project. If you do, please make an appointment with the Helpdesk (see below for information) to remove this software as it has been noted to cause issues with the installation of Microsoft Office 2021.
