La Salle accounts remain active for up to one year after graduation. To prevent the loss of important emails or files, follow the procedure below to save and archive your data before account termination. The steps below help reduce inbox size and archive emails, contacts, and calendar items from your old Outlook account. The exported .olm file can later be imported into another Outlook account on a Mac.
NOTE: Exporting emails on a Mac can only be done using Legacy Outlook, a version that must be chosen if you are using the new Outlook application.
Steps for Exporting Outlook Emails on a Mac
- Open the Outlook desktop application.
- In the Menu Bar, select Outlook > Legacy Outlook and ensure that Legacy Outlook is enabled.
- In the Outlook application, select Tools > Export.
- Check all items you would like archived. When finished, click Continue.
- Save the .olm file under the Downloads folder. Click Save.
- Once your data has been successfully exported, you will get a confirmation window. Select Finish. This file will allow you to import your emails to another Outlook email.
Downloading Files or Folders from OneDrive on Mac
- Navigate to the Microsoft OneDrive and sign in with your LUNA credentials.
- In the toolbar, select My Files.
- For the items you would like to save, click the check box that appears next to a file or folder. Note that you can choose multiple items at one time.
- An option bar will appear above your chosen files. Click Download, which will download the files to your device.
