In-Person or Video Call Identity Verification
For certain IT support requests that involve changes to your personal information, such as password resets or multi-factor authentication updates, ID verification is required either in person or via a video call.
NOTE:
For security reasons, identity verification cannot be completed over a telephone call or email.
A La Salle Help Desk technician must be able to clearly see your face and your photo ID with your name on it.
What is Needed for Help Desk Walk-ins?
If you are on campus, please have the following ready before visiting the IT Help Desk in Hayman Hall 200:
- One form of photo ID with your name on it.
- Accepted IDs include your La Salle University ID card or a government-issued ID (such as a driver's license, state ID, or passport).
- Only original copies are accepted—photocopies will not be valid.
What is Needed for a Video Call?
Before contacting the IT Help Desk for a video call, please have the following prepared:
- One form of photo ID with your name on it.
- Accepted IDs include your La Salle University ID card or a government-issued ID (such as a driver's license, state ID, or passport).
- Only original copies are accepted—photocopies will not be valid.
- A computer with a working webcam or a mobile device that has Zoom installed.
- Proper lighting so the technician can clearly see both your face and ID and confirm a match for verification.

Steps to Join a Video Call
- Call the La Salle IT Help Desk at 215-951-1860 to initiate support.
- A technician will guide you through joining a Zoom meeting and proceed with the identity verification process.
